What is Pastor Darin and Jayne’s Story?

Pastor Darin was raised in Edina, MN. His family moved to Prior Lake when he was entering Junior High.  Pastor Darin attended Jordan Junior High and Jordan High School.  The summer before his junior year of high school, Pastor Darin made a personal commitment to Jesus.  To fully embrace his decision for Christ, he attended a small Christian school in Rosemount for his junior and senior years of high school.  Pastor Darin pursued his commitment and calling to the Lord by attending a Bible college in Louisiana where he eventually meet the love of his life, Jayne.  Jayne was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and met Pastor Darin through her church involvement where they both served as leaders.  He graduated in 1987 and married Jayne in September that same year.  They have three beautiful daughters, Rachel, Jacqueline, and Bethany.

Pastor Darin and Jayne have been in full-time ordained ministry for over 18 years.  The first 14 years were spent ministering to youth in Arizona, Texas, and Minnesota.  After those wonderful years of being youth pastors, God called them into adult ministry.  Pastor Darin then became the Senior Associate Pastor at Cedar Valley Church in Bloomington, MN.  Shortly after the transition to their associate position, the opportunity to pastor the new Eagan campus, while still maintaining the overall associate role, was offered.  Pastor Darin enjoyed being the campus pastor at the Eagan campus of Cedar Valley Church for over two years.  Pastor Strandquist, the senior pastor of Cedar Valley Church, had a desire to start a new church in Shakopee for many years.  After much prayer, Pastor Darin and Jayne believed that God’s will was for them to step out in faith and start a new church in the Southwest Twin Cities Metro Area.  Pastor Darin and Jayne have felt a special call and burden for this specific area for many years.  It is the greatest honor of their lives that God has chosen them to minister to His people in this special area of the world.

Pre-launch services were held in February 2005.  The community launch date for the new Southbridge Community Church was April 10, 2005.
